ABSTRACT

Exostoses are the most commonly encountered tumors of external auditory canal.

The etiologic factor most likely responsible for formation of exostoses is prolonged and repeated stimulation of the external auditory canal.

In a case one, a 57 years old female has dived in the sea during 40 years and in external auditory canal bilaterally diffuse bony proliferation with moderate hearing loss was observed.

In a case two, a 23 years old female has frequently picked her ear and unilaterally single bony mass resembling osteoma with mild hearing loss was observed.

The authors experienced two cases of atypical exostoses of external auditory canal in women who had treated by wide exision and reported the case with review of literature.
