요약

소위‘베이비붐 세대’ 들이 노령화에 접어들면서, 노 화와 연관된 질환의 관심이 크게 증가되고 있다. 인구 학적으로 노인은 65세 이상으로 정의되며 65세 이상 인구비율이 7%를 넘으면 고령화사회’, 14%를 넘게 되 면 ‘고령사회’라고 칭한다. 2010년 통계청에서 발표한 자료에 따르면 현재 우리나라에서 전체 인구 중 65세 이상 인구가 차지하는 비중은 11%이며, 한국의 고령화 는 매우 빠른 속도로 진전되고 있어, 18년에는 노인 인 구 비율이 14.3%로 고령사회에 진입할 예정이라고 한 다. 따라서 노인성 질환의 관심이 커지고 있다.
