요약

근거 중심 의학(evidence-based medicine)은 1992 년 Gordon Guyatt 등에 의해 처음으로 소개된 이후 임 상 의학의 새로운 방법론으로 현재까지도 그 중요성은 점점 더 강조되고 있다.¹⁾ 기존의 임상의학에서는 필요 한 지식을 체계적이지 않더라도 축적된 임상 경험, 질병 메커니즘이나 병태생리에 대한 지식, 그리고 전통적인 수 련과정에서 얻는 것이 보통이었다. 이처럼 기존의 진단이 나 치료가 단편적인 임상경험이나 질병 메커니즘에 근 거한 추론에 따라 결정되었다면, 근거 중심 의학은 이런 점을 반성하고 모든 임상적 판단은 최신 임상 연구 결과 를 바탕으로 과학적 근거 위에서 결정되어야 한다고 주장 하는 것이다.
