ABSTRACT
The elongated styloid syndrome which is induced by elongated styloid process is more rare.
Most patients with elongated styloid process remain asymptomatic.
Patients frequently complain of pain in the throat increased by swallowing or as sensation of foreign body in the throat. Occasionally, some patient complain ear pain and some headache.
These symptoms are due to stimulation of the nerves and vessels which pass closs to the tip of the styloid process.
Recently, the authors have experienced three cases of elongated styloid process complained foreign body sensation of throat in 2 cases and pain on swallowing in 1 case, those symptoms were improved by operation as Eagle’s method and report with review of literatures.
