ABSTRACT

Hemangiopericytoma is an unusual vascular tumor stemmed from pericytes surrounding capillaries. It was first described by Stout and Murray in 1942. This tumor can occur at from anywhere in the body but usually occurs in retroperitoneum, lower extremities. In1976, Compago and Hyams reported a new type of HPC, called a Hemangiopericytoma-like (HPCL) tumor, which has charateristic microscopic and clinical features that differentiate it from typical hemangiopericytomas. We present a rare case, HPCL tumor of nasal septum which was diagnosed by microscopic pathology and immunohistochemistry technique. (J Clinical Otolaryngol 2007;18:245–248)
