요약

초음파는 실시간 영상을 제공하는 비침습적인 영상검 사로 반세기 동안 널리 사용되어 왔으며 최신 영상진단 방법들 중 가장 기초가 되는 검사법이다. 초음파란 사람 들이 들을 수 있는 가청영역(16~20,000 Hz) 이상의 음 파로 본질적으로는 가청범위의 음파와 같지만 주파수가 크고 파장이 짧으며 상당히 강한 진동을 얻을 수 있으므 로 보통 소리에서 볼 수 없는 성질을 보인다.
