요약

얼굴에서 균형 잡히고 반듯한 코는 한 사람의 외모에 아주 큰 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다. 이렇게 외모에 중 요한 역할을 하고 있는 코의 성형술은 미용 목적으로 코 의 외형을 변형하는 수술부터 코의 전체를 재건하는 수 술까지 실로 광범위한 분야를 포함하고 있다. 외상이나 각종 종양의 제거로 발생하는 코의 다양한 결손이나 변형 을 재건하는 재건코성형술은 코의 기능과 미용을 동시에 만족시켜야 하는 힘든 일이다. 최근 많은 이비인후과 의 사들이 코성형, 특히 미용적인 코성형술에 관심을 보이고 있으며 실제로 많은 수련병원에서 기능적 코성형술을 중 심으로 미용코성형으로 영역을 넓혀가고 있는 추세이다.
