요약

1960년 Maiman은 Ruby결정에 Xe(키세논) 의 flashlamp light로 pumping하여 6943A의 적 색광의 루비레이 저 발진에 최초로 성공하였고 1961년 Snitzer에 의해 Nd 音리 레이저가 발 명 되었다. 많은 의 학연구자‘은 이 새로운 현 상에 대한 흥분을 함께 나누었고 이 레이저가 암에 대항하는 새로운 무기가 될것을 희망하 였다. 그러나 초기 레이저들은 출력의 조절이 어려워 종양의 절제가 완벽하지 못한 단점이 문제가 되었으나 곧 그러한 문제들은 해결이 되었고 루비레이저가 망막에 높게 흡수되기 때문에 안과영역에서 성공적으로 사용되었다.
