ABSTRACT
Although lipoma is the most common of all connective tissue lesions, it is rarely found in the tongue. Oral cavity lipomas usually present as slow-growing, painless and asymptomatic lumps. When these tumors reach big sizes, they can cause compressive symptoms and deformities. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice to prevent the recurrence. In this paper we present, with the review of the literature, a case of bilateral intramuscular lipomas occurring in the tongue of a 77 year old male. (J Clinical Otolaryngol 2009;20:115-118)
