ABSTRACT
Solitary fibrous tumor is an uncommon, benign spindle cell neoplasm that was initially descibed in the pleura. It has been recently recognized to occur in extra-pleural sites. Only a limited number of cases have been reported in the oral cavity. We describe a case of a solitary fibrous tumor of the oral cavity in a middle aged man. The tumor occurred in the buccal mucosa and deeply invaded into the masticator space and infratemporal space. We describe the clinical presentation, radiological findings and pathological features.
