요약

메니에르병은 원인 불명의 내림프수종에 의해 반복적 으로 나타나는 발작적인 현훈(recurrent spontaneous episodic vertigo)과 청력 손실(hearing loss), 그리고 귀충만감(aural fullness)이나 이명이 나타나는 질환이다. 이 질환은 부검에서 병리학적으로 내림프수종을 증명하 는 것 외에는 확진할 수 없고, 증상들이 매우 주관적이며 변동성이 많아 진단에 어려움이 많다. 메니에르병의 진 단에 있어서 병력이 가장 중요하지만, 검사는 Table 1과 같이 일반적 검사로 청력검사 및 전정기능검사가 있으며 특수검사로 탈수(dehydration)검사와 전기와우도 검사 가 있다. 특징적인 병력과 일반적 검사에 의해 추정된 메 니에르병을 특수검사로 확인하여 진단할 수 있다.
